McElvain controls the body well and works down the mound with intent and athleticism. Ordinarily sitting 90-92, McElvain projects to throw into the mid-90s with added strength and maturation. He also adds in a bit of deception. Holcomb is currently a shortstop and does have fluid actions, but the range just isn’t there for me and the arm is such a cannon and accurate it will be great at third. He showed far too much swing and miss at the PDP league, but he also had one of the hardest hit balls in the HS All American Game at Dodger Stadium.   Cam Brown RHP               TCU 2022 stats -  4.42 ERA, 53-IP. 49-K, 31-BB   2-27-23 - Opening Weekend  - Cam Brown,  RHP, TCU– Physically, the 6-foot-3, 230-pounder is everything you’d want from a frontline starting pitcher. He is big, strong and just flat overpowers the baseball to produce mid-90s heat. However, his fastball plays much lighter than its velo. The 92-96 played soft and the Razorbacks attacked his fastball, finding barrel after barrel for several 100+ mph EVs over his 1.2 inning start. He allowed five hits, walked one, struck out one. The right-hander also mixed a 86-88 cutter with a 83-84 slider and seldom used mid-80s changeup. Last season Brown tallied a 4.42 ERA in 53 innings, along with 49 strikeouts and 31 walks. This season he will need to become more consistent with his command and not just throw to the middle of the plate. The fastball is heavy and it can get up to 92, but usually sits 89-91 with ease and a fluid delivery. It's a bowling ball heater that he commands brilliantly, some calling his feel for the pitch comfortably double-plus. He does, however, possess a slider that is a legitimate weapon. It's a low-80s sweeper that misses an immense amount of bats. His changeup doesn't have a ton of separation, but it does tumble hard at the plate and tunnels well off the fastball.
