UPDATED RESEARCH - 2023 Draft Prospect - OF - Travis Honeyman

Image
Travis Honeyman   OF                 Boston College   2022 BC stat line -   6 HR, .329/.402/.506, 5 SB, 16/11 K/BB in 41 games   2-6-23 - Prospect Live - Top 100 Prospects  - 23. Travis Honeyman Outfield, Boston College Honeyman has essentially been a steady performer throughout his college career, both on campus and in wood-bat summer leagues. A primary left fielder, Honeyman is an above average runner with high-level instincts. He's got a fringy arm, and will almost certainly stay in left field moving forward. Honeyman really began to turn heads as one of the better hitters on the Caps this past summer. It's solid-average power at the plate, mostly to his pull-side. Honeyman is a solid player in almost every aspect of the game and is a bit of a sum-of-his-parts type of player. 12-9-22 - 2023 MLB MOCK DRAFT 1.0 https://throughthefencebaseball.com/2023-mlb-mock-draft-1-0-pirates-taking-who/ 16. UPDATED RESEARCH - 2023 Draft Prospect - SS/3B - Brayden Taylor

Brayden Taylor   3B/SS          TCU  2021 TCU stats - 59-G, 210-AB, .314, 13-HR 2-27-23 - Opening Weekend  - Brayden Taylor,  3B, TCU- Similar to EBJ, I love the baseball player that is Brayden Taylor. He has top of the scale instincts and feel for the game. In coach speak, he’s a “ballplayer.” His high-level bat-to-ball skills have produced a lengthy track record of success in the batter’s box both at TCU (.314/.454/.576 in 2022) and for the USA CNT last summer. He also started out rocking with a 7-for-12 (.583/.706/.917) showing at the College Baseball Showdown. Taylor is also a capable defender at the hot corner and has shown steady improvement over the course of his career. With a projectable 6-foot-1, 180-pound frame he also stands out for his potential to juice his stock even further with a jump in power production. Our current ranking of No. 8 is part prediction of his power popping this spring, which his 110 mph EV home run to right field on Friday against Vanderbilt was a st

UPDATED RESEARCH - 2023 Draft Prospect - RHP - Cade Kuehler

Cade Kuehler   RHP             Campbell   2022 Campbell stat line - 16-G, 15-ST,  4-6, 4.07, 84-IP, 111-K   2-6-23 - Prospect Live - Top 100 Prospects  - 18. Cade Kuehler Right-Handed Pitcher, Campbell Kuehler developed extremely quickly upon arriving to Campbell. He's got a super-quick arm and natural deception that's been hell on the opposition. The fastball is already up into the upper-90s with top of the scale ride. He's really dialed in a slider/cutter that flash plus when he's got feel for it. Kuehler will need to continue throwing more strikes and ironing down the effort in his delivery as he develops and gets more college innings under his belt, but there's definitive day one upside here if the track record and production continue to impress. 1-29-23 - 2023 MLB Draft Prep – 5 College Guys to Watch the Next Two Months https://northsidebound.com/2023/01/28/2023-mlb-draft-prep-5-college-guys-to-watch-the-next-two-months/?amp=1   4. UPDATED RESEARCH - 2023 Draft Prospect - RHP - Travis Sykora

Image
Travis Sykora   RHP        Round Rock HS (TX)   CBS - Five snubs from the Top 30, including a Wake Forest power hitter and an Arizona standout  - 3. Travis Sykora , RHP, Round Rock HS (TX) Why you would expect him to be ranked: Sykora is a massive, 6-foot-6 right-hander with a commitment to Texas. He cleared the 100 mph threshold at the Perfect Game All American Classic.   Why he's not: Historically speaking, it's almost always wise to fade prep right-handers -- especially those who are getting by primarily on their arm strength. (See Tyler Kolek, Riley Pint, and others for more on that dynamic.) While Sykora might end up being an exception, right now he's the pitching equivalent of primordial goo. He can throw the ball hard, but his command and secondaries aren't at the level where we feel comfortable ranking him top 30. Velocity always attracts, so we feel confident Sykora will have a chance to cash in on his massive velocity readings come July regardless of where

UPDATED RESEARCH - 2023 Draft Prospect - RHP - Paul Skenes

Paul Skenes   RHP             LSU   2022 Air Force stat line - 15-ST, 10-3, 2.73, 1.17, 85.2-IP, 96-K 3-4-23 - https://d1baseball.com/roundup/d1-digest-mean-skenes-deals-fgcu-gets-upset-program-record/  - Pitcher Of The Day: Paul Skenes , LSU The Air Force transfer was phenomenal yet again. He needed just 80 pitches to mow through the Butler lineup for six innings. Skenes gave up a single with two outs in the first inning and proceeded to strike out 10 of the next 12 batters he faced. He retired the final 16 hitters to step in the box against him.   Skenes is now 3-0, 0.50 with 36 strikeouts in 18 innings.   HE HAS STRUCK OUT FOUR TIMES AS MANY HITTERS AS HE’S ALLOWED TO REACH BASE. 3-3-23 - Keith Law’s MLB Draft 2023 Rankings:  - #9 Paul Skenes , RHP, LSU LSU worked that transfer portal this winter, landing Skenes from Air Force, where he may not have faced SEC-caliber competition but he did have to pitch at 6,000 feet above sea level. He’s been 94-100 mph, sitting 97-98, with a s
