  Grayson Moore RHP Vanderbilt     2-22-23 - Opening Weekend  - Grayson Moore , RHP, Vanderbilt– The promising 6-foot-3, 215-pound right-hander scuffled at the Showdown in one inning of relief against TCU. H- is low-70s curveball was well below average as the Horned Frogs sat on and struck his 92-96 mph fastball for four runs on three hits.   Chandler Murphy RHP Missouri     2-22-23 - Opening Weekend  - Chandler Murphy , RHP, Missouri– Don’t let his boxscore statline of 2.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 3 BB, 4 SO discolor his bright Opening Day performance, at least in my eyes. Of those five hits, three were infield choppers and a fourth was a medium hit grounder up the middle to the second base side that should have been handled for an out. Victimized by some poor fortune, Murphy worked with a smooth, starter-like, repeatable delivery. The loose-armed 6-foot-3 right-hander sat 92-94 mph with his four-seamer, working it up in the zone, while sinking his two-seamers below the knees. He also mixed a sharp, 83-87 mph high-spin (2700-2850 rpm) slider. It was a short, tight and a flincher at times. The pro-grade plus pitch even drew some swordfight swings from the Cowboys. His even higher-spin curveball (2900+) buzzed to the plate at 78-82 mph and graded as an average pitch. His fourth offering, a straight changeup, arrived at a firm 86-

  Magdiel Cotto LHP Kentucky 2-6-23 - Prospect Live - Top 100 Prospects  - 74 LHP Magdiel Cotto Kentucky Cotto has an extremely impressive arm with loose, whippy action and significant arm speed. He's been up to 97 and comfortably sits 93-95 over long innings from the left side. That's sellable by itself. He's got a slider and a changeup, both of which are more of a work in progress, lacking the command necessary to be consistent compliments to the heat.   Marcus Brown SS Oklahoma State   2-22-23 - Opening Weekend  - Marcus Brown , SS, Oklahoma State– Brown came into his own as a sophomore at OSU last spring, hitting .316/.378/.441 with 15 doubles as a catalyst for the Cowboys. He then took his lumps last summer in the Cape, hitting .236 with 31 strikeouts against 10 walks. He started the 2023 season 1-for-9 with four strikeouts at the Showdown. At 5-foot-11, 190 pounds he’s a strong, quick-twitch athlete with decent bat speed, but his swing has some length, and he continues to be a bit pull-happy in our looks. Brown is a good runner who is aggressive on the basepaths, and he has adequate range and an average arm with a quick release that plays at shortstop at this level, though he likely profiles better at second base in pro ball. At this point, I see Brown as a very solid college player, yet one who projects as a mid-to-later Day Two pick instead of the one who has received Day One hype elsewhere this preseason. 2-6-23 - Prospect
