Eric Bitonti, sr., SS, Aquinas (California)

Bitonti absolutely raked as a junior, hitting .526 with eight home runs and 41 RBIs, and the athletic Oregon commit also stole 17 bases and scored 55 runs. MLB scouts love the 6-foot-4 athlete's power potential and he doesn't turn 18 until December, factors that could help him land in the first round in July.

9. Eric Bitonti, SS/3B, Aquinas HS (CA) – The fact he won’t turn 18 until late 2023 and is in the top ten of my high school ranks is a testament to how good a player Bitonti is for his age. He is a quality defender, although there is a better chance he lands at third long term but it is too early to count him out as a shortstop. He has shown an advanced approach at the plate with patience and good pitch recognition, but doesn’t get cheated when he sees a pitch he likes. With a wide base, minimal step, and quick hands to the zone, he makes plenty of contact, but has the stong hands, back lean, and loft in the swing that allows him to really drive the ball.

21. Eric Bitonti

Shortstop/Third Base, Aquinas

Bitonti offers one of the most visually appealing swings in the entire prep class. High-level hit/power combo that’s well balanced throughout as a left handed hitter and a bat path that’s conducive to all-fields power. Ultra projectable, long frame that Bitonti incorporates extremely well into both his swing and throws across the diamond showing staying power on the left side of the infield. The Oregon commit shows an immense package of tools that could end up proving to have day 1 type potential. The cherry on top? Bitonti won't turn 18 years old until December following the draft. He's incredibly young.

15. Boston Red Sox

Eric Bitonti, Infield, Aquinas

The Red Sox have gone so incredibly heavy on California prep shortstops in recent years that, at this point, it’s almost impossible to ignore. Bitonti is more of a power-first infielder with tremendous bat-speed. He may end up at third base or in left field, but you’re buying the bat here. Bitonti will be just 17 years old on draft day, so models will continue to value him very highly.

20. Eric Bitonti, SS, Aquinas HS

Bitonti is a left-handed bat who committed to Oregon. He won't even turn 18 until December and still has all the tools that could make him a first-round selection. He's got incredible power and great discipline at the plate.

Eric Bitonti is a 2023 SS/3B with a 6-4 215 lb. frame from Hesperia, CA who attends Aquinas. Big and strong athletic build, stands out physically. Left handed hitter, hits from a slightly open balanced bent knee stance, uses his lower half well to generate bat speed, uphill swing with huge power potential, present bat speed and still plenty of projection, sees the ball very well and controls the strike zone, high ceiling offensive tools. 7.00 runner in the sixty. Moves very well on defense for his size, light on his feet, throws well on the move and when off balance, solid present arm strength. Excellent student, verbal commitment to Oregon.
