23. Cleveland Guardians: Drew Bowser, 3B, Stanford
Bowser impressed his sophomore season, hitting .293 while going yard 18 times in 62 games. He’s got a great feel for the zone and uses it to his advantage. His strikeout rates are a bit high, but if he can limit the swing and miss part of his game and show that he’s improved in ’23, he’ll easily become a top-10 pick.

Nothing much needs to be said of 3B Drew Bowser, who took over the hot corner as a Freshman All American and just excelled both his first two seasons on The Farm. He hit .293 with 18 home runs last season. Troy was second on the team with a .339 average and for the second year in a row really stepped his game up in the postseason, leading the team with a .500 average, 12 runs scored, five doubles and five home runs in the 10 postseason games.

41. Drew Bowser, 3B, Stanford – Bowser’s end of season numbers looked good, but he definitely had a slow start to the season last year. He has shown the ability to stay inside the baseball and really drive it the other way, but his future is likely as a power hitting pull bat. There is a ton of whiff in his bat, but that plus power will help mitigate the downside. He has played third throughout his college career but is not a particularly good defender there and would like to see him get some time in the outfield to show he is not ultimately destined for first base.

Drew Bowser
Stanford
Bowser was a huge deal coming out of Harvard-Westlake in 2020, but it's never easy to pay a guy away from a Stanford commitment. Bowser, like so many before him, deferred his big league dreams and decided to head to Palo Alto. That's worked out nicely. Bowser had a monster freshman campaign sliding over to third base and flexing with the bat. He posted massive exit velocities while impressively limiting his strikeouts, playing a sturdy hot corner for the Cardinal. The low-hanging fruit for Bowser will be lifting the ball. He was an extreme ground ball guy in 2021 with a launch angle in the negative category. This isn't entirely foreign to Stanford as flatter attack angles and high contact rates have been a bit of a staple in the David Esquer era. Still, it's to ignore the impact on the baseball and the athleticism on the dirt. If he matures into ambushing the baseball like Brock Jones did, watch out.

Drew Bowser, 3B, Stanford
Bowser was a top prep prospect in the 2020 draft but had a strong commitment to Stanford. In his first two years, Bowser served as a consistent offensive producer. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-handed hitter uses a compact swing to drive the ball to all fields with massive power. His aggressive approach sometimes leads to strikeouts, however.
Bowser has the athleticism and arm strength to play well defensively at third base.
